Attached are the Stillwater Combine results from Sunday, May 5, 2013.   The list is in order of final grade from the individual testing results.   In addition, there is a Top 5 page of each test.   The Elite Combine in Syracuse will take place in the middle of July and once the NYS Coaches Association compiles all of the results from the many combines in the state they will send out invitations to the players who made it to the next level.   Thank you for all who participated.   The results are also sent to all local and state colleges.

The NYSHSFCA-NFF Football Combine will be held on May 5th at Stillwater High School at 10:00 am.   The application is attached.   The players will be tested in the bench press (185-reps), 40 yd dash, Vertical Jump, Long Jump, Short Shuttle, 3 Cone Drill and Height and Weight.   The cost is only $30 and players will try to qualify for the Elite Combine located in Syracuse during the month of July.   If any player would like to train to get ready for the combine they can contact Top Form at  https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/asp/home.asp?studioid=36460.   They will be holding training camps during April.   Information on the training camps is attached.

There were a number of Section 2 football representatives honored at the NYSHSFCA Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, February 8 at the Turning Stone Casino.   Matt Shell (Class A) and Ron Jones (Class C) were named the coaches of the year.   Dylan Keyer of Ravena was named the Class B Scholar Football Player while Brad Burns of Hoosick Falls was named Class C Player of the Year.  Brad could not make the dinner due to the fact that he was wrestling in the State Qualifiers.  Finally, James Allen of the Times Union received the Hunter Low Media Award for his service to football through the different media outlets.

We have finalized the NFF Coaching Clinic for Monday, January 21 at RPI.   It should be one of the best clinics we have held.   We have an array of coaches along with player demonstrations from the University of Albany.  In addition we will have lunch and a social after as well.     The cost is only $40 a player or $150 for a staff of 5.    The brochure is attached.    Remember, the proceeds go to the Capital District Chapter of the NFF to help in the scholar athlete dinner and Capital Region Hall of Fame.

Keynote – Former Univ at Albany Assistant Head Coach and current New Haven Head Coach – Pete Rossomando – New Haven finished the regular season undefeated this year and went deep into the NCAA Div II Playoffs

College Coaches – University at Albany will bring their DL, DB, WR and Strength and Conditioning Coaches to the clinic along with their players to show drills for each position and also speed and agility drills as well.  In addition, we have the St. John Fisher Offensive and Defensive Coordinator along with Merrimack’ Head Coach and the Offensive Coordinator from Utica on hand.

HS Coaches – NYS Champions Matt Shell from Burnt Hills (Play Action Passing Game) and Ron Jones from Hoosick Falls (Option Series) along with Section 2 Champion Greg Sheeler from Shaker (Practice Organization) and perennial power Ravena Offense Coordinator Bob Dorrance talking about the Power Running Game with Counter Trey.
