Running back Leejay Pollacchi, who helped Saratoga Springs to its division crown, and quarterback Danny Peters, who guided Niskayuna to the sectional semifinals, were named as Players of the Year in Class AA.
Pollacchi was named the Player of the Year for the Empire Division, while Peters won the same award for the Liberty Division.
Other major award winners were Mark Seager of Ballston Spa and Marquis Terrell of LaSalle Institute (Offensive Player of the Year); Tony Deloatch of Saratoga Springs and Dan Desbiens of Schenectady (Defensive Player of the Year); and Suhyab Banks of Shenendehowa and Marc Thompson of Schenectady (All-Purpose Player of the Year). Seager, DeLoatch and Banks are juniors; all other top award winners are seniors.
